Nijut Moina Scheme 2026: Apply for Monthly Financial Grants for Girl Students in Assam

The Government of Assam has launched the landmark Mukhya Mantri Nijut Moina Scheme (MMNMS) to promote girl child education, eliminate child marriage, and provide monthly financial grants to eligible female students pursuing Higher Secondary, Degree (Graduation), and Post-Graduate courses in Government and Government-aided educational institutions across Assam.

Under this visionary welfare initiative, more than 10 lakh girl students in Assam receive monthly stipends directly into their bank accounts to support their higher educational expenses.

Financial Assistance Rates under Nijut Moina Scheme

  • Higher Secondary Level (Class 11 & 12): ₹1,000/- per month (Total ₹10,000/- per year for 10 months).
  • Degree / Graduation Level (BA, BSc, BCom, etc.): ₹1,250/- per month (Total ₹12,500/- per year for 10 months).
  • Post-Graduate Level (MA, MSc, MCom, B.Ed, etc.): ₹2,500/- per month (Total ₹25,000/- per year for 10 months).

Eligibility Criteria & Mandatory Conditions

  1. Beneficiary: Must be a bona fide female student studying regularly in a Government or Government-aided educational institution in Assam.
  2. Marital Status: The student must be unmarried during the course of study. (Exception: Married female students enrolled in Post-Graduate courses are eligible).
  3. Attendance Requirement: The student must maintain a minimum of 75% classroom attendance in their respective institution.
  4. Disciplinary Record: Must maintain good academic discipline and conduct throughout the academic year.
  5. Exclusions: Daughters of Ministers, MPs, MLAs, and Class-I & Class-II Government officers are not eligible.

Required Documents for Application

  • Self-declaration / Undertaking confirming unmarried status.
  • Valid Aadhaar Card of the student.
  • Student's personal active Bank Passbook (linked with Aadhaar for DBT).
  • Current academic admission receipt / college identity card.
  • HSLC / 10th Admit card (Age proof).
  • Recent passport size photograph.

How to Apply for Nijut Moina Scheme?

  1. Students must collect the prescribed Nijut Moina Application Form from their respective School / College / University office.
  2. Fill in personal, academic, Aadhaar, and bank account details accurately.
  3. Attach self-attested photocopies of all required supporting documents.
  4. Submit the completed physical form to the Head of the Institution / College Principal for institutional verification.
  5. The educational institution verifies and uploads student data to the official government portal.
