About Orunodoi 3.0

Orunodoi is the flagship direct benefit transfer (DBT) scheme of the Government of Assam, implemented by the Finance Department. Money is transferred every month directly into the bank account of the woman head of the beneficiary family, so that households can meet essential expenses on food, medicines and education.

Monthly Benefit

  • Rs. 1,250 per month (Rs. 15,000 per year) per eligible family under Orunodoi 3.0.
  • Paid through DBT into the bank account of the eldest woman of the family.
  • No middlemen — the transfer is credited directly by the Finance Department, Government of Assam.

Eligibility Criteria

  • The family must be a permanent resident of Assam.
  • The applicant must be the eldest woman member of the family (18 years or above).
  • The family must have a valid ration card / NFSA or be listed as economically weaker as per state records.
  • The family should have an annual income below Rs. 2 lakh.
  • Priority is given to families with widows, divorced or unmarried women, specially-abled members, or families where no member is in government service.
  • Applicant must have an Aadhaar-linked bank account in her own name.

Who Is Not Eligible

  • Families with a member in permanent government / semi-government / PSU service or drawing a government pension.
  • Income-tax paying families.
  • Families already receiving a similar monthly state DBT benefit.
  • Families owning a four-wheeler (except commercial light vehicles) or more than 15 bighas of land.

Documents Required

  • Aadhaar card of the woman applicant and family members
  • Bank passbook (Aadhaar-linked, applicant's own account)
  • Ration card / NFSA card
  • Voter ID or residence proof of Assam
  • Recent passport-size photograph
  • Mobile number linked with Aadhaar (for OTP verification)

Key Dates

  • Application mode: Open — applications are collected in phases through the circle office / gaon panchayat and the official portal.
  • Verification: Continuous, done by the circle officer and district administration after submission.
  • Payment date: Benefit is credited monthly, usually within the first two weeks of each month.
  • Status check: Beneficiary and payment status can be checked any time on the official Orunodoi portal.

How to Apply

  1. Collect the Orunodoi application form from your Circle Office, Gaon Panchayat or Ward Office, or download it from the official portal.
  2. Fill in the details of the woman head of the family exactly as printed on Aadhaar.
  3. Attach self-attested copies of Aadhaar, bank passbook, ration card and residence proof.
  4. Submit the completed form to the Circle Officer / designated collection centre in your area.
  5. After field verification, the approved beneficiary name appears on the official Orunodoi beneficiary list and payment begins the following month.

How to Check Beneficiary Status

  1. Visit the official portal orunodoi.assam.gov.in.
  2. Open the Beneficiary / Payment Status section.
  3. Enter your Orunodoi application number, Aadhaar number or ration card number.
  4. The current status — pending, approved or paid — is displayed along with the last credited month.
